April 16-22, 2023, I will be teaching a course at La Meridiana School of Ceramics in Tuscany, Italy. While we will be exploring techniques that have been used to create masterworks in many, major collections, this class will require NO previous knowledge of ceramics. We will be using specific, colored clay processes that are a departure from traditional ceramic techniques.
These techniques may be used in conjunction with traditional clay styles of working but can also be very successfully used for stand-alone expression. Think of this course as both a continuation of past styles of working with clay as well as a new direction!
In previous classes we have had students ranging from no experience to professional. Everyone learned at their own level; shared the experience and enjoyed making objects that included sculpture, jewelry, lighting and pottery. The emphasis is totally on expanding you creative potential and making memories.
